Research Materials Documentation

Technical specifications, lot-level testing information, and analytical documentation for qualified research customers. All materials are for in-vitro laboratory research use only.

About Our Reference Materials

Raven Research supplies analytical-grade biochemical reference standards and laboratory research materials to qualified research customers. All materials are intended exclusively for in-vitro research, analytical method development, identity verification, and laboratory evaluation.

Material Classification

  • Analytical-grade reference standards — supplied for use in laboratory method development and analytical calibration
  • Research-use-only (RUO) materials — not approved, cleared, or licensed for any clinical, therapeutic, diagnostic, or consumer use
  • In-vitro research materials — intended for use in controlled laboratory environments, not in living organisms
  • Identity and purity reference standards — lot-level documentation and Certificate of Analysis available for each batch

Intended Research Scope

Materials supplied by Raven Research are appropriate for the following qualified research applications:

  • In-vitro biochemical assay development and validation
  • Analytical method development and calibration
  • Identity verification and structural confirmation studies
  • Laboratory evaluation of receptor binding and signaling pathways in cell models
  • Reference standard use in chromatographic and spectrometric analysis

Testing & Lot Documentation

Every batch supplied by Raven Research is independently tested by Janoshik Analytical before release. We hold a strict ≥99% purity standard across our entire catalog.

Primary Test Method
HPLC (purity by area %)
Identity Confirmation

Certificate of Analysis

A Certificate of Analysis (CoA) is issued per lot for each material and includes: compound identity, lot number, test date, HPLC purity result, MS identity confirmation, and analyst signature. CoAs are available for all current stock on our CoA page or by contacting support with your order ID.

Laboratory Storage Conditions

Recommended storage conditions for maintaining material integrity in a laboratory setting. These specifications are provided for laboratory inventory management purposes only.

Lyophilized Form (Sealed)
2–8°C or -20°C long-term
Laboratory Working Solution
2–8°C per lab protocol
Shipping Stability
Stable at ambient temperature
Freeze-Thaw
Minimize; aliquot as required

Laboratory Handling Notes

  • Store away from direct UV or light exposure — degrades peptide bonds over time
  • Avoid temperature fluctuations above 25°C for sealed lyophilized vials
  • Repeated freeze-thaw cycles should be minimized by pre-aliquoting stock
  • Maintain aseptic technique consistent with your laboratory's standard operating procedures

These storage specifications are for laboratory inventory management only. They do not constitute preparation, administration, or use instructions of any kind for human or animal subjects.

Lyophilized Material Form

All Raven Research materials are supplied in lyophilized (freeze-dried) form. Lyophilization is the gold standard for preserving analytical-grade biochemical reference standards.

Technical Characteristics

  • Stability: Removal of water eliminates hydrolysis and oxidation degradation pathways, preserving analytical integrity
  • Extended shelf life: Extends usable laboratory life from weeks (solution) to 12–24 months (lyophilized)
  • Shipping compatibility: Stable at ambient temperature during transit — no cold-chain shipping requirement
  • Lot integrity: Lyophilized form facilitates accurate lot-level mass verification and documentation
  • Purity preservation: Prevents microbial growth without chemical preservatives, maintaining documented purity throughout shelf life

Process Overview

Lyophilization converts aqueous material to a dry powder via sublimation under vacuum — the frozen water converts directly to vapor, bypassing the liquid phase. This preserves molecular structure and purity through the drying process. The resulting powder is sealed under inert atmosphere and is chemically stable for extended laboratory storage.
